Communicating Geoscience Research: A How-to Workshop
Communicating our research to wider audiences is more important than ever before, but the array of public engagement platforms can be bewildering! Whether you are a scicomm expert, complete beginner, undergrad or professor, these hour-long workshops will provide training in key public engagement techniques, and a forum for sharing experiences and best-practice, involving convenor-led components as well as round-table style discussion. Workshop 1: tailoring for different audiences, effective use of social media, preparing for the news media. Workshop 2: science outreach in schools, the importance of geoscience storytelling, scicomm for students – getting your science heard. No booking required.
