Soil Sampling Techniques and Logging
New technology in portable Vibracore systems offer new opportunities for soil and sediment sampling research. Field experience has proven techniques for low cost, high quality samples that can be collected quickly with minimal site preparation and remediation. The first half of this course offers an overview of lightweight portable drill equipment that is commercially available to conduct soil and sediment sampling. Basic principles and operation of this equipment will be presented along with advanced insights into operational techniques for challenging conditions. The second half will provide attendees with a sound understanding of sampling techniques and suitable logging methodologies.
