This course provides training in writing, editing, rehearsing and performing comedy sketches and tight-five monologs with geoscience themes. Participants will explore how to find the funny in geoscientific situations and how to know their audience (e.g., students, professionals, general public). Participants will be guided through elements of comedy writing, and will practice timing, delivery, dialog and punch-ups. Material can be created by individuals or in pairs or small groups. Course time includes rehearsal and coaching/direction from the instructors. The workshop will culminate in (voluntary) delivery of material created by the participants
