502 FULL   Introduction To Petroleum Structural Geology

The purpose of this course is to introduce geoscience graduate students and faculty to the general concepts of structural interpretation and analysis from seismic reflection data and the role of structural interpretation and analysis in evaluating subsurface petroleum traps. Course materials will be borrowed from existing lecture and exercise materials used for in-house training purposes, as well as some created specifically for this short course. The course will introduce students to the fundamentals of seismic interpretation of structural systems in exploration and production. The focus is 2D and 3D interpretation and structural analysis for reduction of uncertainty in imaging and interpretation, building kinematic structural histories for basin analysis, and interpretation of structural heterogeneities at the seismic scale that may impact hydrocarbon entrapment and production. The cost for this course is $45 for professionals and $25 for students.
