536 CANCELED: Advances in Applications of Laser Ablation to the Geosciences
Laser ablation (LA) is a mature technique for solid sampling with broad application across the geosciences. The coupling of LA with other techniques, e.g., quadruple ICP-MS, multi-collector ICP-MS, LIBS, TOF allows efficient, in situ interrogation of a variety of isotope systems, and trace/ultratrace element analysis at high spatial resolution. This short course will provide an introduction to technologies and methods currently available, a critical examination of limitations, and capabilities will be demonstrated with abundant examples.
