509 Innovative Tools for Project Management in Academia
Project management is the means by which a team works together to achieve project goals within an established framework. Let’s be honest: This is no easy task as there are many components that must be maintained in order to ensure the success of a project. We have developed a course that tailors project management methodology used in industry for academic purposes. This course will focus on how to streamline task management throughout the project to ensure steady momentum and team accountability. Throughout the course we will be introducing proven strategies for more effective project management as well as introducing custom tools that we have created specifically for academia. These innovative tools will help build and manage timelines, budget, and scope as well as enhance communication and accountability amongst collaborators. This course will involve activities and collaborative discussions that will allow you to immediately apply the knowledge learned throughout the workshop. We will also work with each participant to address individual needs and develop personalized goals. This workshop is designed with all academic career stages in mind and is based on feedback received from 100 academics in geoscience.
