Abstract
Laser diffraction grain size measurements with a Lake Superior sediment core generally decrease upsection through a series of 1,400 glaciolacustrine varves deposited between 10,400- 9,000 cal ybp. Thick varves are associated with an increase in grain size. This correlation is attributed to increased glacial runoff during climatic warming periods.
