Abstract
Nigeria holds a lot of potential for meaningful impact in the emerging field of medical geology. The rich medicinal waters from thermal chlorosodic and oligomineral springs, deep Cretaceous sediments, as well as rocks and minerals such as trona, kaolin, bentonite, and tropical peat combine to offer the most populous black nation on earth a very huge capacity for the development of geomedical products as well as the much desired balnear - industry in the light of increasing health needs in the nation. This study which was achieved through direct field, laboratory work, as well as literature review is a revelation of the additional ways geological sciences may contribute to national development and GDP.
