Abstract

In recent years, there has been a global recognition of the need to investigate the effects of natural environment on human health which has led to re-emergence of a multidisciplinary science known as Medical Geology. In this context, a wide range of environmental compartments including soil, sediments, urban surface deposits, atmospheric particulates and aquatic samples were examined for their potentially toxic elements. As a result, there are significant numbers of publications available worldwide.

The aim of this study is to establish a Google-Earth based interactive data-base which will provide not only a brief summary of the research article on medical geology, but also present spatial and temporal distribution of similar researches in a specific area. In addition to the citation, location and source of the article, other information including elements of interests (Pb, Hg, As), analytical methods and statistical analyses (mean, range and standard deviation) of data will be presented in a table format. Users could potentially add or update articles to expand the database which will establish a fundamental frame-work to allow international collaboration between researchers, professionals, and students.
