Abstract

Upper Devonian (Frasnian) tentaculitids from the Flume, Perdrix, and Mount Hawk formations were found at Marmot Crack, Klapper Creek 1, and Klapper Creek 2 in western Alberta. Eighteen species of tentaculitids including eleven species of Homoctenus, one species of Polycylindrites, four species of Nowakia, one species of Costulatostyliolina, and one indeterminate species were found as recrystallized conchs. Strata at Marmot Crack and Klapper Creek 1, as well as Marmot Crack and Klapper Creek 2, were correlated based on the occurrence of tentaculitid species and conodonts. The correlations within Marmot Crack and Klapper Creek 1 lie within MN Zones 5 and 6, while the correlation between Marmot Crack and Klapper Creek 2 lies within MN Zone 12.
