Abstract

AGU Webinars offer weekly insights into topics in the Earth and space sciences presented by scientists and other experts every Thursday at 2:00 pm ET. The three main channels for AGU Webinars are Professional Development, Sharing Science, and Science Policy. The Professional Development channels, which broadcasts every third Thursday emphasizes essential soft skills, connections to experiential and learning opportunities, jobs outside of academia, and other career resources. Sharing Science presentations help scientists effectively share their work with broader audiences and promote the widespread awareness and perceived value of Earth and space science. Science Policy webinars discuss the latest developments from Capitol Hill and the ways that scientists can affect the understanding and support for science by federal lawmakers.

Open calendar dates are filled with special topics for Earth and space science department heads & chairs, technical highlights from AGU Meetings and Publications, and primers on writing among others.

AGU Webinars and archived recordings are free for all participants (registration required). A listing of upcoming webinars and access to past broadcasts are available online at webinars.agu.org. Suggestions for future topics or presenters are welcome at webinars@agu.org.

Live and recorded webinars are a great way to supplement your classroom discussions and instruction.
