Abstract
This study is focused in parks because they represent an exposition place for vulnerable population (kids) and to this date, in Mexico there are no normatives in terms of the painting used in these sites. Results show very high values of Pb (maximum 173,136.13 mg/Kg) and chrome (maximum 23,346.01 mg/Kg). The values of both metals are way above the international regulations and in Mexico, it does not exist a regulation that indicates a normative concentration, only for paint in toys (NOM-003-SSA1-2006). These results show that the parks do not have a strong impact of Pb and Cr respect to the geochemical background of the soils. The high concentrations of lead can have adverse effects in kids health exposed, such as affectations in the central nervous system, brain, circulatory system, kidneys and skeleton.
