Abstract
To accomplish an enhanced characterization and evaluation of Florida’s stratigraphy and 3D geologic framework we subdivide the state into three regions (Panhandle, Northern Peninsula, Southern Peninsula). First, new and updated borehole descriptions and formation picks are provided and verified for each of these regions. Borehole descriptions and formation pick are supplemented with any available additional data including but not limited to, geophysical logs and interpretations, historical drillers- and litho- logs, and seismic data. Sections of core are selected for pXRF analyses so that the elemental composition of these units is better understood and proxies for critical mineral potential are identified.
Here we present updates to the stratigraphy in the Northern Peninsular region with surface models, select cross section(s), and fence diagrams. Displayed here are stratigraphic equivalent Mesozoic units from within the Marquesas Supergroup.
