Abstract
There is perhaps no other river more central to the culture and history of a city than the San Antonio River. Gregg Eckhardt will present a case study in geomorphology and hydrology that traces the evolution of community involvement, river management, and ecological transformation from prehistoric times to the present. Perspectives on flood management, water quality, and habitat maintenance will outline how past and present interactions with the San Antonio River continue to shape both the physical and cultural landscape of the region.
